Confirmations
On web orders, all product descriptions, quantities, stock-status and pricing will be confirmed via email shortly after the order has been received. Therefore, we do not need you to send a written confirmation. If your system dictates that you must send a confirmation, please ensure that it is clearly marked as such. Should a duplicate shipment be made as a result of a confirmation that is not identified as a confirmation, a restocking fee may be charged.
Minimum Orders
Every order is important to us at Caledon. Although we do not have a minimum order requirement, orders under $100.00 in product will be subject to a $10.00 surcharge.
Shipping
Our products are shipped in full compliance with Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations.
Unless specified otherwise, your order will be shipped via the most economical and efficient means. Normally, shipments are FOB our stocking location, with shipping charges being prepaid and added to the invoice. Certain products may be subject to additional Dangerous Goods charges or special packaging fees. If you request a specific carrier that is not regularly used by Caledon, the shipment must be sent collect.
The responsibility for lost or damaged goods shipped FOB the shipping point rests with the purchaser. Caledon will assist, however, if there is any difficulty in settling a claim. On receipt of goods, any damage or shortages should be noted on your freight bill or receipt. Hidden damage should be reported to the carrier within seven days of receipt of the shipment.
U.S. Shipments
Orders destined for the United States are shipped FOB Georgetown, ON and are billed in U.S. dollars.
Other International Shipments
International orders can be shipped FOB Canada or CIF the customer’s port of entry. Sea and air shipments of laboratory chemicals are subject to a number of regulations. As a result, service charges may be applied to the invoice to cover the cost of meeting these regulations. All orders shipped outside of Canada will be billed in U.S. dollars.
Terms
With established credit, payment terms are net thirty (30) days from date of issuance of invoice unless Buyer is otherwise advised in writing by Seller. Late payments will be charged interest at 18% per annum, compounded monthly, minimum $25 per invoice. All payments must include the invoice number and your customer account number, both of which are shown on our invoice.
New Accounts
New accounts are always welcome. Simply provide three trade references along with the account application. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express, cheque or money orders.
Pricing and Discounts
Our prices are subject to change at any time without notice. Although raw material costs tend to fluctuate over time, we will do our utmost to ensure that our prices remain constant. Customers logged in to the site with a registered User ID and Password will be shown pricing in the currency specified in their customer profile. In all other instances, the pricing shown is in the currency specified and applicable sales taxes and shipping charges are extra.
Order Cancellation Fees
Caledon Laboratories begins processing orders immediately upon receipt. Cancellation fees will depend on the degree to which the order has been processed, and may include costs incurred for design engineering, material, equipment and resource acquisition and scheduling. We will take steps to mitigate these costs immediately upon receipt of a written cancellation notice from Customer.
- Order cancellation fees for standard inventory products are 15-25%.
- Order cancellation fees for specialty and non-stock products or quantities may be up to 100%.
Return of Items
We take great care to ensure that your order is filled and packed accurately. Upon receipt of your order please examine it closely. Contact us immediately if material is missing or damaged.
Caledon Laboratories Ltd. stands by its products. Should an instance arise when the quality of the product does not meet your expectation, we will do our utmost to correct the problem. If we cannot satisfy your concerns we will gladly accept return of the item and issue a full credit. Returns for other reasons may be subject to a restocking charge.

Any goods arriving without a Return Authorization Number may be refused.
We are unable to accept for return:
- Items which are opened or used
- Custom items that have been specifically formulated
- Items which have outlived their shelf-life
- Items that are damaged, modified or shelf-worn
Warranty
Caledon will replace or refund any product that fails to meet the published specifications or is materially defective. Caledon Laboratories Limited makes no other warranty of any kind either expressed or implied. Caledon Laboratories Limited will not be liable for any damage or other loss, however caused, in excess of the purchase price of a product in respect of which any claim is made.
Use and Handling
Caledon products are sold for laboratory and manufacturing use only and are not intended for any other commercial, drug, medicinal, household or other consumer purposes.
We reserve the right to refuse a sale to persons not considered qualified to handle hazardous substances, or if we suspect that the intended use of the chemical is for illicit purposes.
Substitutions
We reserve the right to substitute certain products with material that has comparable specifications.
